Hey guys, quick question for you guys. Found this bumper on local Craig's list. Not a body expert. Do you think it would be possible to pop the dent out of this thing? Been looking for one of these for quiet awhile.
Those are nice bumpers....but I'd have to say your SOL on fixing that. I've had experience massaging dents and done well... but It's too thick to pop and work out into any thing other than and smaller dent with several hammer marks. Plus the chrome will probably start to flake at some point. I'd say that somewhere out there is a metal guy that could do it and make it decent but the cost would likely far out weigh the cost of a new one....
There is a reason body shops use new bumpers, or reconditioned!!!!
Even if you get the dent out it will have cracked chrome and will start to rust... When they repair them they have to grind the hammer marks out and re-plate them...
I don't mean to pee on your parade but,,, You "might" get it to look OK for a while but to be honest I doubt it will ever look like it should... $15 is not too much to loose if you want to experiment, myself I wouldn't bother....
Thanks for the input. The bumper I have now is dent free so I'm not going to bother putting one with a dent in it on my truck. I was just seeing if it could be done. I figured that would not be able to be fixed. Like I said before, not a body person by any means... Thanks again
