IPR questions

I have an 03 with a hot start issue. I bought a scan gauge and can see it is not meeting the 500psi needed when hot. It has a new IPC but did not fix.The IPR is going to 75 to 85% during crank. Could the IPR be sticking or do I have a IHOP leak? What test can I do? The problem went away for 2 days then came back.

Do you run OEM Oil Filter & Cap???are you 110% shure?????

What is ICP????????????????????????????????

As Blade said above, the 75-85% you are seeing is the command TO the IPR, there's no way to verify it's doing what it's being told to do. You mentioned seeing <500psi on ICP when hot. How does it act cold? (ICP/IPR)

IPR questions

I am using motorcraft oil filter with factory short cover.
I did check ICP voltage but did not write it down. I will get them when I leave work this afternoon and post values. I am going to pull IPR saturday, if the screen looks funky is that a gauranteed failure?
It has been this way about a month, got there gradually. I bought the scan gauge last week and the next day it started fine hot but only for 2 days.

What is the actual ICP pressure when cold and hot? Saying it didnt meet the 500 psi is vague, actual values are needed to accurately diagnose your problem.

Those values don't look too bad to me, but the real question is what are the values when it is cranking and won't start.

IPR/IPC values

I didn't write down the IPV but the IPC runs from 220 to 380 on a no start.
The IPR goes up normal to 70 to 80% during start or no start.
I have replace the IPC sensor, no change in the issue.

Question still at itq

Drove home from work, shut off and verified it still is a no start hot. IPC pressure 200 to 300 during crank, IPR 79%, noticed battery voltage going down to 11.5 during crank. Is that normal?
Ficm power did not drop below 47 during crank.

IIRC you need at least 500 psi ICP to start and 180 cranking RPM's. battery voltage at 11.5 cranking is pretty normal for me. FICM voltage looks good. Sounds to me like you have a HPO leak somewhere.

After reading ALL the thread your ICP values are bouncing around for some strange reason. Pull the IPR valve and check it. If the screen is compromised then that's the first thing I'd change.

Thats kind of what I am thinking. I am going to pull first thing in am. I am leaning more towards an IPR since it quit doing this last week for 3 days and then came back. Wish I new 100% what it is!
