Crap....

Took the Truck to my buddy's for him to do the Pedistal O rings... got it all apart and finds.....

Just behind that broken hole is a crack that runs down the turbo housing...

then there was this to...

Hard to tell but they are BADLY worn and some of them have deep Gauges in them... got to checking the other side and they werent much better off.... so its awaiting a turbo...

These housings are notorious for cracking due to over-torquing during assembly or overheating.

Mine was cracked as well. It was a hairline fracture.

I'd set you up with some parts, but I only have an Intake housing that's good. The rest of my parts are trashed.

Good luck with this, glad you found your issue!

The truck is gonna run like a champ now!

Best part about the damage being exhaust side is that it goes out the tail pipe, not into the cylinders.

Yup, i figure it may get a little better fuel millage once its fixed and it should have a good bit more power, im also wondering if that may of had something to do with it having a small bit of white smoke when first fired up....

JFYI: If its a hairline is not a fracture, its a fissure or crack.

Turbo shouldn't cost you more than 200-400 dollars depending on quality.

I believe you can buy a rebuilt from Rons turbo for 450-600.
