12 v oil pump for adding a filter?

Is there a pump anyone here has bought that pumps engine oil?

I have a little air cooled diesel going in a go kart,

It has no oil filter, so I wanted to pump the oil through the filter
and also through a cooler.

20 l / minute?
10 l / minute?

Can't help you on the pump, but I'm curious about the project. Like to see some pics.

Are you using a refrigeration motor?

No it's a 1 cyl 418 cc engine.
probably 9-12 hp.
the go kart is a side by side, 4 ft wide and 12 ft long.
I will put pictures later.
5 sp trans out of a sonoma.
truck tires.

Not making it to jump and burn tires off, just cruise and not burn much fuel, or cost a mint to fix.

These little diesels are tourquey.

Same engine went in a tiny chevy car and they hit highway speeds.

And I need the pump to filter the oil, and cool it using a small rad, and also heat for defrost in winter.

small hydraulic pump on a chain or belt drive off the output shaft of the engine. more reliable and powerful than an electric by far.

Take a power steering pump and remove the guts from the pressure valve. If you look in the junk yeard you can fine one with a remote tank.

I think that would be too big, and waste too much power....

I don't got much power in this thing to begin with, 418 cc diesel, and installing a car alternator yet...

Keep us posted, it looks real interesting. I really want to do a mini diesel swap with a Tri Pac motor. They use a .5 something liquid cooled Yanmar twin. It'd be near perfect for what you want to do since it already has all the 12v starting and charging attatched.

Is that a 0.5 liter engine?

Mine is pretty close to that I think, it also has a starter and charger, but the charger is only 5 amps I think, that's not really enough for anything except to charge the battery good enough to start again.

It doesn't take much diesel power to move a load:

Yep, half a liter. Enough power to run an automotive style A/C compressor and a 65 amp alternator. They're used as auxillary power units on semis to keep all the creature comforts without idling the trucks engine.

Is there an oil pressure port that you could use to run a bypass filter? Wouldn't help with heat but that would keep your oil nice and clean.

I don't think so, but I'm new to little air cooled diesels.

There is 2 oil drains, one on the bottom of the engine on both sides, so I was thinking of sucking out of 1, pumping back into the other, and putting a drain valve at the side of the body so oil changes are easy.

These guys I believe are rated to last 2000 hours, so maybe with an oil filter & cooler I can get 4000 hours out of it.... you never know.

We run single cylinder diesel gensets 3500 watts. We run them all night most days in winter. We change the oil at Christmas time and again spring. They just won't die. They are at least four years old and more likely 7 years old. All we is change the oil and let them run
