I doubt it's a computer issue since it works perfectly every time I hook it up to an SD. On AE sometimes you have to change it to a non OBD II configuration to get it to connect to the truck which is a PITA sometimes. I have also had a 96 OBS that didn't want to connect on OBD II or non OBD II, switched it back to OBD II and it worked. Weird stuff.

This. And AFAIK, it's not a "sometimes" thing. I've had to uninstall/reinstall AE several times (reasons not related to AE), and every time, the comm is REAL flaky until I switch the "Initialization Type" to "Non-OBD-II...". Then it punches in like clockwork. After all, if our trucks were standard OBD-II, any old off-the-shelf schlepware or scanner would talk to it.
