I still suspect driveline. It sounds to me like it gets worse when you accelerate. Does it also get worse when you decelerate, (engine braking, not coasting with the clutch in)?
Driveline problems I've had in the past that would happen at a particular speed would briefly go away in that little slack point between accelerating and decelerating (when there's no torque either way in the driveline). Since you have a manual transmission, it should be easy to try these things.
Just put new u joints in both rear drive lines also the carrier brg was fine it made the noise after and before I put them in also I have manual hubs and shift lever for 4x4 hubs are in locked and in 2 wheel front drive line don't spin
If only i had time, this was WHY i wanted to attend the RRW, last week. Had money to blow on parts and hopefully a few sets of hands eager to find culprit as well.
Dman, for any conciliation, your sound is nothing compared to mine. Gonna try the video with camera and post up to photobucket, hopefully tomorrow. You guys would shiat bricks. I cant get to 2k rpm's fast enough.
Other than possible uneven wear on one of your tires... i think youve covered it all.
You got any play in your rear end?
Exhaust was mentioned... is everything secure?
This happen in all gears in that rpm range?
Just throwing it out there... pilot bearing? You said manual right?
You said new wheel bearings up front... how about in back?
Get your alignment checked. And look real good at your ball joints, tie rod ends, etc...
