does anyone have these? i need some handles inside my truck, especially when climbing into the truck, these would be very helpful. i was thinking of finding some solid ones at the junkyard and using some beefy self taping screws on the roof rails or pillars. or i was originally thinking of some soft strap handles from a wrangler or something. ideas?
I've seen some rudders use those brushed steel bathtub grab bars. And forget simply using screws... A big bubba can pull 'em straight out.......oughtta be bolted to a backing plate with nylocks on the other side of the sheetmetal.
I got mine from LMC, they just screw into the sheetmetal. the base is just just a little to big, had to force the trim back on, but I like the looks, only bad part is the chrome gets hot in the sun
I would ck out the JY for some passenger side handles (roof-not a pillar) from a 96-2000 ish Dodge Ram, black, leather, usually cheap, easy to install with the factory hdwr.
They have a snap on cover over the bolt head and I believe it a torx bit?
To install take down the headliner for easy access and use a backing plate for strength....
There are some hand hold ideas I have, so you do not always grab the steering wheel and the door to get in, its a little rough on the tilt mechanism and the hinges.
Its a bar that attaches to the inner cab (imagine a thick towel rack/bar shape) area below the shoulder belt reel, it sticks out just enough to be easy grab.
And another idea of a bar from the a pillar to the floor right where the kick panel is, like if you had a roll cage installed, but I am making just a grab bar.
I still have to make them, but I am sure you get what I mean.
