Hey Jim, How ya doing? Rain stopped around 11:00AM and the Sun came out about noon. Hey, it gave me a chance to polish out the '99 's headlights. Boy, does that make a difference.
hey everybody. hope this message finds ya'll well across the miles. i am new to the NorCal area and wanted to join the chapter. i sent a request to Nighteyez and attempted to open the link posted by WillyB to introduce myself but i didn't have any luck. so i thought this would be a place as good as any? i am in the coast guard and have recently been stationed at SanFran Int'l airport. i am an AMT (aviation maintenance technician) (mechanic) and have been turning wrenches since 2004. i've been in for 11 years now and shooting for 20. i'm originally from ohio and have been stationed in DC, miami, alaska, and now here. in 2007 i purchased my first truck. its a 2002 F350 SRW CC LB 4x4. when i purchased it it had 264,000 miles on it and from what i can tell had one owner. the truck has a clean history both with ford and carfax and runs really strong. i drove The Great White from ft. lauderdale, FL all the way to Kodiak Island, AK. after the cross-gulf of AK ferry ride to bellingham, WA i drove all the way to here. SF bay area where i will be stationed the next four years.
anyway, some quick facts about me without sounding like a dating website: 30 year old male, love the outdoors (hiking, camping, some hunting/fishing, mountains, snow, concerts...), AND working on/tinkering with my truck.
quick truck stats if i can remember 'em all: current mileage 320,000
2.5" leveling kit, firestone riderites, 6637, stancor GPR, HPx, FRx, regulated return kit, CCV mod, foil delete, 5" MBRP exhaust, snelling? LPOP, and i think thats it. rides on BFG's showing signs of age (cracking, small tread depth).
so i guess thats it for now. i'm on vacation the rest of the week as my dad is in town visiting and i'm glad to finally be able to really dig into this website and glean info and give what info i can.
take care everyone! glad to be here!
When you reach the 25 post mark, then I can approve your membership into the chapter. I currently have 2 people waiting to get in, you being one of them. The other guy has requested to get in, but he only has 17 posts, and he has not posted since I told him he needs 25. And that was weeks ago. I have made the mistake of approving people with less, and then they never show up. So I have had to implement this restriction. You are in luck as to where you are stationed, we have several members in and around the SF Bay area.
Jim- thanks for the reply. i understand your position on admitting folks into the chapter with a minimum number of posts. i'm doing my best to keep 'em coming.
thanks for the welcome sparky2531. just got home from running around all day. thanks again!
