Time for a rant
It's a forum, it's the internet, a place where a bunch of total strangers talk about there trucks and ask questions.
Don't like what you are reading go to another web site or better yet, go work on your truck......
I would like to be able to, but I am 6000 miles away.
Nice hood.

For all you guys that get your pannies in a wad over redundancy...it's a newbie...dragging up an old thread...asking about tcase shift patterns...and how to post pictures.
The HORROR...the HORROR. I repeat...for your own sanity and to prevent mass amounts of underwear bunching...do not click on that thread if you are above answering the questions that newbie is asking. It's a trap...the forum has been infiltrated again.

This guy apparently did neither.
A welding forum that I am part of made up a FAQ thread, and directed any people with repetitive questions to it instead of helping out. That forum has since gone almost dead.

Also .... as said .... too much beating up of newer members is often counter productive as I've noticed on other forums. So what if they ask a question that had been asked before .... we all did at times. I dare say there are few "unasked questions" remaining of 73-79 Dents. There's also the chance to just post and get to know some regulars.
This is a great forum, we all make mistakes, we all have asked a dumb question or two, we all learn, and we all like these old trucks .... even the rusty ones.

Speaking of "Dumb" however ....
Dumb questions are like the guy coming into my store with GF in tow "I need a oil filter" he says .
"Ok, what do we need it for?" I asked.
"Huh' he asks as GF stands there popping gum.
"You know .... what year make model vehicle do you need an oil filter for?" I ask
"My truck" he says and just stands there.
AAP doesn't want me telling him what I think at thios point, it takes a few more questions to get it out of him. I guess he thought all vehicles use the same one?
Or how about the well educated and not so hard to look at girl who's getting her oil changed by her BF and so she comes in to AAP and ask for Castrol 10w30 oil and Hasting oil filter for her car.
I tell her we don't sell Hastings filters but that the Castrol is normally $24.99 for 5qts .... and that we have a special that day Castrol in 5 qt jug with a Driveworks oil filter for only $21.99 and that she can upgrade to a Purolator Classic filter for $1 more or Pure One for $2.
Nope, she wants Hastings.
So I asked her if there was anything she might just want a Driveworks for, she said "NO".
I explain that the oil alone is $24.99 and that if I just throw any Driveworks in, it's $21.99.
"That would be wasteful" she said.
I did everything short of saying "Mam, we'll pay you $3 to just take a Driveworks outside and toss it in the trashcan".
Finally, I see that I am beat .... she is clearly of superior intellect .... I just take her oil to the counter and ring her out $24.99 plus tax and she's happy and leaves in search of a Hastings oil filter. Me and the CPP both enjoyed watching her walk away .... yes we did.
Might as well add something I guess. Here is one of my favorite sayings
"There are no stupid questions but there are sure a lot of inquisitive idiots!"
