87 E150 Blower motor resistor.

87 E150 Blower motor resistor.
long story short the blower motor resistor went out on my 87 E150, Parts store tells me that they can't get an exact replacement because Ford removed the Diode wire, so now I have to wire in a 4 wire pigtail to what used to be a 5 wire resistor. Anyone have wiring diagrams or any experiance with this? Several hours of Net searches has gained me nothing but frustration.
