1985 4x4 Ball joint Removal

Hey all, I gotta 85 f250 4x4 HD diesel pickup and i went to take it to get an alignment and the guy said needs new tie rod ends and it needs new upper and lower ball joints on the passenger side. Well they wanted 650$ to do it, i think ill do it myself
I got the ball joints, grease, tie rods, pickle forks, snap ring pliers. Now im just kinda looking for some advice. ive never done ball joints per-say but it doesn't seem too difficult ive taken axles apart. but that was a straight axle Dana 44 out of a IH scout II These I-beam 4x4 axles seem different. There any advice, Tips and tricks i can follow? Thanks Yall.
Byron.

I'm guessing it would be like 35 or 36 mm. I got mine from Sears for installing the front spindle nut of a 1996 Mustang. Yours being a truck may be bigger. You should take an exact measurement before going to buy one.

Also, the 36 mm socket was available with a 1/2" drive, but much bigger may need 3/4" drive wrenches.
