302-351-460

Was going to do the efi 5.0 deal but the truck already has a 460 c6 in it. Truck is a 74 f100. Used to use for heavy hauling but now have a 88 3/4ton. Im wanting to use the 74 as a parts hauler/light towing. Im wanting decent mpg. I already have the 460 just needs rebuilt but is a 351 or 302 a better option? Will a 302-351w get that much better mileage than a 460?

460, 7-9 maybe 10 occasionally. 351ms Ive owned got 10-12, never had a 302 but a friend did, probably like 12-14 tops but I would much rather have a 300-I6 than the 302. Legendary durability, torquey and mine got 18-19 mpg on the hwy with a 3spd with OD, no cruise running 70mph ac blasting.

The inline six would be better than the 302 in my opinion.

Inline six much better at towing and heavy loads.

I agree the six is the ticket.I have 2 of them and both get 16 to 18 mpg
