Oil vs Front differensial

I took my trunk to quick lube place this morning for an oil change. When I went to go pay they informed me that I got he front differential fluid changed for free. They said the guy in the pit pulled the wrong plug.

How... how. HOW do you confuse the oil drain plug for the front differential? I don't think I'll be going back there....

I sure wish I had time to change my own oil...

There is no drain plug in the front diff. You need to pull the cover to drain it. This is why I do all my own oil changes, all those shops are full of idiots who use less than OE spec filters.

Maybe he changed the transfer case fluid? You do have time to change your oil. It would be quicker then driving to "quick lube" waiting for them to do it... this truck is super easy to change the oil, I dont even need to jack it up. Plus the piece of mind knowing what you did was a good job. I would check to make sure he filled it with the right stuff. I will never go to a quick lube place. A buddy of mine, his wife went to the one by our house and they didnt put the drain plug on all the way. BOOM! motor is now toast.

And change it in a parking lot while I'm driving for work? It doesn't work with my schedule. I wish it did.

I'm sure you can fit it into your schedule. You won't even have a schedule if they make a major mistake which is entirely possible.

I think if you got a long enough extention and the right swivel you could change it on the move... just saying.
But really I can understand taking it some place, I do it for my wife's piece of mind. She apparently doesn't trust me with HER truck. It's easier to pay than to argue. Did they put the right stuff in is what I would be the most concerned about.
