soot covered tailpipes
does any-one out there know why my tailpipes are soot covered,I own 4 f-150`s aged 92 to 96, my 96 -obd-11 and one 95 that is mass cesored,have real clean tailpipes, my 95 with maff air has black in the inside,is this normal, has anyone encountered this?The truck has no lights on and passed emissions,runs great, just wondered if some-one ever noticed this?

Car engines don't burn the fuel fully. Look at any car exhaust in say, walmart, every car has soot whether it's diesel or not. Which again, it's not burning the fuel quite as perfect.
I have to deal with air fuel mixtures and combustion data daily in my line of work. It's not with automotive but the same thing still applies.
