my wifes explorer is getting no fuel. (there is a valve I depressed similaR to a tire valve, I pressed it once some fuel dribbled out, and thats it, turned the key several times and not a drop off fuel. I went as far as checking the fuse, the fuse is not blown. what are my next steps of trouble shooting..
thanks
There is a fuel pump relay in the power distribution box, (engine compartment)... Switch it with another relay then listen at the fuel filler while someone cycles the key...
If you dont hear the pump, good bet it requires changing......
Double check the inertia switch under the passenger side carpet..... Philip
I had a 1998 explorer and at approx 180,000 miles, the fuel pump went out... no warning... nothing.. Had it replaced... drove it until it had 223,000 miles... and it was still going... and going... and going..
Good Luck.

I am going to give that a shot, and see what happens.
did you ever figure out how to get the fuel line off the tank? I've tried 2 different tools and neither will work to release the connection. The tank won't come out without disconnecting everything going to the tank, electrical connectors and those 2 fuel lines... I tried for over an hour yesterday with no luck, and it's pissing me off... they shouldn't be that hard to disconnect???
