I know similar situations have been adressed in other threads, but I can't find the answer that fits.
I pulled my 94 explorer into the drive it was running fine, came out 1/2 hour later, it wouldn't start. There is no fuel getting to the engine, opening the valve on the engine shows no fuel. How many relays fuses etc. are there that need to be checked and where are they.
I've changed the fuel filter and checked the inertia switch I don't want to pull the tank and pump only to find the problem would have been an easier fix. I can easily hear the fuel pump on my other explorer anf my F-250 but nothing out of this one.
Sure would appreciate someone saving me the grief of pullin a half full tank in 4 inches of wet snow,
I certainly agree with checking the easy electrical stuff before dropping the tank.
Do you have a wiring diagram? Even the one in Chiltons (which you can get from Autozone's website in their vehicle repair guides) is adequate for the fuel pump circuit.
The fuel pump relay and fuse are in the power distribution box under the hood.
Recognize that the PCM is responsible for closing the fuel pump relay. A problem in the PCM power circuit will also prevent the fuel pump from running.
Thanks for the tips, I will wait till the weather warms up a little and go over things again. I have a 93 Explorer so I can switch parts back and forth.
