The oil, a resounding YES. The fuel filters? Air filter is probably dirtier than your fuel filters.Your tank and lines are probably their cleanest until you run a few tanks, why change them? I and others drain the DFCM more often. I do that every 2 months, others do it more often and of course water in the fuel is not dependent on mileage. Tires wouldn't hurt. How are you ensuring your DPF is clean? Tranny filter? Power steering fluid? Coolant probably has stuff in from manufacturing and break in but messing with it could induce problems. I did my oil and filter at 3,000 and the other stuff can wait until they are due. I also washed my engine. It was pretty dirty especially after I got the oil bolt out, the oil stream way overshot the container I had waiting underneath, not to mention after loosening the filter the oil just kept coming out and getting everywhere. Took me a long time to clean the mess up. Will position the catch basin 3 feet away next time.
Water separator is recommended every month. I believe the coolant is rated to 100,000 miles but don't quote me on that. This coolant is an expensive change if you are going to do it.
Oil I waited to 5000. I am now running Rotella t6 and wait until it tells me to change it. I am at 33,000 miles.
You can do whatever makes you feel comfortable, but I think most would think its overkill.
this is my first diesel and want to make sure i am doing all the right things
Maintanence is low hanging fruit for prevention plus it will give me a sense of how to work on the truck and i will have everything done before the weather hits
Right now i am leaning to do the following
- oil and filter
- DFCM drain
- air filter (check)
- rotate tires - this will allow me to check breaks, fittings and lube anythig that needs to be lubed
- probably fill the DEF tank
One thing on filling the DEF. I think many like myself wait until you get to half tank then wait a little longer and put in a 2.5 gal. jug. That way avoids having a partial jug laying around. Also be aware you need to trip the sensor to reset that level, it is not a direct read for the tank.

It's a great truck.
When I filled mine it said below half,I added 2.5 gallons and did not have to reset the sensor to get it to read correctly.I turned the key and it was correct.Maybe im misunderstanding what your saying but I didnt have to trip anything to reset...
