RPMs in 2200-2400 range, never really looked. I am in Hollidaysburg. Actually I have a 1995 C350 7.3 Centurion Bronco but I was NOT going to run it on sand and in salt water. It never even sees snow. The EX is my beater and work, haul, woods, mud, snow etc vehicle, it came from a junkyard it can go back there if it has too.

Like someone else said (TD?), the mpg seems to get better at higher speeds. I know this defies even my own common sense logic, but 2000 rpms just doesn't do it like other vehicles/trucks I have owned. It seems to prefer 2250 (the line between 2000 and 2500). Maybe I will have to tinker around some more and test it on a flat freeway situation with cruise on and NO hills.

I am not sure I have even gotten an honest 12mpg. It was maybe more of a 11.5. Seriously.

Does your friend have a chip or a 5star tune?? Just curious.....

Karl.
