What is the current axle ratio? Did you retain the factory truck y-pipe and converters? Do you have an automatic or manual transmission? What is the base timing set at?

The gear ratio is 4:88 due to the tire size being 40". It has true dual exhaust, no cats or mufflers. It has an automatic transmission E40D. I believe the base timing is whatever comes stock.

You could easily bump the base timing up to 12-14 BTDC. That is a common modification on these trucks. Beyond that there is not much you can do with the stock setup. That HO cam builds power a little later in the power band than the stock cam did. You have a bunch of tire, but a reasonable gear to compensate so you are on the right track. More cubic inches or a more intensive engine upgrade in the 5.0L may be the answer here.

Some might suggest 1.7 roller rockers, that may net you a few more ponies but I do not think it is going to help the bottom end torque much.

put a stall converter in it so you never lug the engine down below 2,000rpms

something like this http://www.transdepot.net/product.as...FQJx4AodnVcABA

(I can't vouch for that brand never used it just the product of a quick google search)

and I would stay away from revmax converters, that is what i am running now. It was too short so i had to remove the shim between the engine and tranny and add that much shim between the crank and flexplate to get it to engage the front pump completely so it would not leak. On top of that it is advertised as a 3600 stall but really stalls at 4,000 but it has a nitrous anti ballooning plate and a billet front cover

tci and b&m also make junk converters they use a cavaler or similar 4cylinder low power POS car converter as a core and modify it to fit specific applications. you might be fine though since you are all stock and probably don't have the power to make one balloon

if you want to get the best converter go with a neal chance converter $$$$$
