Ok, so everyone tells me I should know if I'm early or late 99 model.
If I read the sticker right, Its early right?
And looking at this, and Tuglys in another thread, I don't have the spot for an IAH boost plug conversion right?
So I'm getting a little better at the picture size stuff. I'm hoping that I'll eventually have fewer stupid questions too.
I did find my annoying pipe rattle on my own... PO popped some oil lines off mount brackets and didn't reattach. He also took the hangers off of the muffler, found that tracking down the rattle.
looks like you need to spray that engine down with some simple green and let it soak for a little bit then hose that sucker down. its way to dirty. clean it and you will be able to spot problems when they come up, like leaks.
It doesnt look like you have AIH to me. I dont know much about e 99's but that spider looks different than mine.

I agree that it's useful to know which version you have. That way you can order correct replacement parts if/when the time comes. Your build date indicates e99 and the photo confirms.
Here is a document that discusses some of the differences regarding the engine.

I cleaned it... what 2 weeks ago? The dirt in my area is beyond horrible. I used some silicon lube on the ... rubbery whachits for the intake. Not really my idea, but it was recommended by someone who "in general" has good advice on reducing replacements

That PDF is awesome. I looked though it, and the AIH was a 99.5 upgrade. I guess I'll be doing the drill/tap for my boost guage... when I can afford it. Now to update my sig now that I have an answer for which 99 I have.

You can also install a T fitting in the MAP line for your boost gauge (unless you are going with an electronic sending unit). Autometer has a great economical boost gauge in their Factory Match series. It's a virtually identical match to your OEM gauges and illuminates exactly the same. The dimming feature works with your dash lights as well. Only draw back with the Autometer Factory Match series is they only have Boost, Trans Temp and EGT. If that's all you are looking for then you are good.
You'll probably yell at me... but I was actually looking at the glowshift EGT dial, digital Boost, digital Temp 3 in 1 gauge. I just installed their speedo in the wife's tracker (didn't want to spend more than car is worth) and I actually kind of like the rotating color thing that is does.
That and I'm more of a gauge free person, but intelligence says that since I got this for hauling, knowing anything even if slightly inaccurate is better than flying blind and praying it doesn't quit.
