So, the other day I had to turn the radio down in the truck but inadvertently left my finger pressing down on the button a few extra seconds.
The sound has not yet come back on and I am having all kinds of other issues. It won't change stations, no sound - it's like all the controls have frozen and the sound has been disabled.
Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas? I pulled the fuse - no effect. Put a tape in it, now the tape won't come out and no sound for that, either.
I do not have a clue what could be the issue here, and due to the lack of replies I assume others also have no idea. It may just be time to replace the radio, I found a used replacement at a junkyard for just $10. I have also seen them on eBay as well.
I think what it is is that I broke the on-off button. I still haven't replaced it, but the little toggle is super loose and doesn't work at all. When it broke, I believe it makes some kind of short in the system.
Thanks for the reply - I had forgotten about posting it here.
I also had a tape stuck in the oem radio, which I never was able to remove. Ended up installing a pioneer head unit so I could play cd's and plug in mp3 players and such. I have been debating installing an oem radio back in the truck.
