It's got to be the heat, it played fine last night after the truck sat in the shade for a couple hours??? I guess the radio has a faulty circuit in it that is causeing the problem when it heats up. Looks like I may need a new radio!
Possibly the scan/seek button is stuck ? Look to see if which way the stations scan, low to high or vice versa. Then check the button that corresponds to the direction of scanning, and see if you feel the button "click" on and off. Try a little plastic safe electrical contact cleaner as well.
That sounds plausable, but there is no "click" to the buttons, more of a solid feel to the buttons. I think you're right, the button is stuck, but the bass and treble display keeps popping up too so I think the whole thing is just shot. I just popped a tape in the player and now the darn thing is stuck in there! My favorite tape too! Arggg!!!! Anyway, I thinks me is going to visit the local truck shop and buy a nice new radio with a CD player in it! They can install them in under 30 minutes, I don't need any speakers as the speaker in the Expy are pretty nice I think!
