Serpentine belt size?

I have been through like 3 belts in the past year, they all end up squeaking at some point. Going to replace with a Goodyear Gatorback.

Only way to get one here is to order online. So does anybody know how long of a belt I would need? For a '92 5.0 V8 w/Air conditioning and smog

Good question! I know it's a Gates, as for part number, not sure. Does it say on the belt? I should have kept the receipt, that would help.

It will say on the belt will be something like 6k0910 or some variation. That will give belt length then it's easy to look up from there. Just not sure what the length for yours is

I put new belt on mine this past spring. Thought I would go with the big name version(Gates) and get a "good" belt. Ha. About two weeks later it picked up a squeak. I found out that the belt had a shiny spot on it where they print the part number. Every time it went over the water pump pulley it would slip(squeak). I sanded it to no avail. I ended up with an Autozone version and it's perfectly quiet. Go figure.

I had the same issues after deleting my smog pump. It screamed bloody murder when I started the truck. Switched to a gatorback and quiet

Thanks, Midnite, I'll check in the morning. Too dark to check now, and besides it's raining lol.

Yeah, Freightrain I did the same, went into O'Reilly asking for the "Premium version" belt, and got the Gates, hoping I wouldn't have any issues. Obviously not lol.

Looking at that belt number above a
6k0910 would be 91"
6k0915 would be 91.5"
The last number is 1/10ths of an inch.
Somewhere in the number will be
Could look like K060910 as well.
K = serpentine belt
The 6 or 06 is number of ribs in the belt
And the rest is length of belt.
Once you find the length take a look at the link below and match up the length beside the 6 for number of ribs. Don't pay attention to the metric part number on the link. It will look like the 6PKxxxx but the numbers won't match the number on your belt being as yours is in inches and the link is in mm or cm.

I hope that made sense..... Post belt number if u need a hand.

Hey Alex. I had the squeak problem after I installed my 3G alt. so I took a wire wheel and Laquor thinner to the alt pully to rough it up a bit and clean the old "stuff" out of the 6 grooves .... still quiet after 6 mo. Good luck Dave

Midnite -

Here's what I came up with, My belt says K060910

According to the Gatorback Belt Chart, this is what I need:

4060910 6PK2310 6 91 91.75

Thanks for the help.
