1984 E350 steering column replacement
1984 E350 steering column replacement
Hi All,
Got a 1984 E350 that has a steering column that is cracked due to previous owner using as a hoist go get into van. I found a used replacement online with 90 day warranty for $225 shipped. That seam reasonable?
Also my van is an auto w/o overdrive, but with tilt and cruse control, which I want to retain. Online parts place lists auto w/o overdrive, with tilt, but does not say anything one way or the other about cruse control. Does that matter? Or do I just need to transfer over the steering wheel and run the wiring down the new column?
Thanks
Drove down from Harts Pass WA over the weekend and freaked out I was going to break the column and plunge over a 1,000' cliff with the whole family on board! not going to do that again.

That seems a little expensive to me!! I usually get my steering columns for $50.00 or less.
I believe if your replacement column doesn't have cruise you'll have to swap over your steering wheel, turn signal switch and harness. I'm not 100% on the turn signal switch It's been close to a decade since I've had to tear into a van or truck steering column that age.
