It would read really close to 0 if the wiring was shorting out. Just like if you touched the 2 leads together, there would be very little resistance.
All I can say is make sure you are on the pins, you could take off the tin nut and spacer and remove the coil to verify and not work on it down in the valley.

Not so much about damage to the injectors, as leaving you stranded on the side of the road.
