As far as I know, all SG2 are the same...
ScanGauge II Ultra Compact 3-in-1 Automotive Computer with Customizable Real-Time Fuel Economy Digital Gauges : Amazon.com : Automotive

You'll need to program the X gauges into it though...

For the money, nope. But there is a better option out there if you want to spend the money (cough, AE )

I personally think the Torque for Android and Dash Boss for iPhone are both far better than the SG2

Both of those have OBD-II adapters available?

Yes. The Android is the cheaper option by using an eBay wifi OBD connector. Though I believe most eventually step up to the $100 Kiwi adaptor.

DashBoss is $169.

Can you post some more photos from the DashBoss
I really like what you said about it in the PM.
I think you have me sold on the idea.
May have to sell the SGII will let people know.
Thanks

Here is the main Dash Boss screen...

I almost always use the 12 gauge screen...

But you also can have 12 more cued up in the visual gauges...

I am a bit lazy with those gauges. The 12 on one screen is more than enough for me personally.

You'll notice the "RECORD" button on all those screens. You can record you data as you drive etc and it is stored as a .CSV file.

You can access it visually right from DashBoss on 3 screens of 4 PID's...

Scroll thru the elapsed time for values...

Or email the file to yourself and open in Excel or even right from your iPhone...

DashBoss takes a reading or refresh rate of about .4 seconds it seems.

It's easy to change gauges, double tap the PID takes you to this...

Notice you can change the units, set 3 different alerts per PID or change the Parameter and scroll thru the list. Super easy.

You also have a performance section...

And read and clear OBD codes...

It's looking good.

Quick question, does it count to 6 on the gear pid? Or just to 5th?

And have you added the extra gauges like EGT?

It counts to 6. It's interesting to see the transmission skip 4th and other times use it.

I haven't added any external gauges, but you can up to 2 extra gauges like EGT and Fuel Pressure. There are a couple write-ups showing how to add an EGT probe for dirt cheap.

http://www.dashboss.com/forums/index...61.msg1272#new

I'm trying to figure out why my gauges are set in Fahrenheit degrees, but the recording/graph shows up as Celcius.

You will probably still find a few bugs in the system. Does Dashboss have a forum for users yet? Might want to check. Or send them a quick e-mail.

These new toys are fun, but there are so many vehicles out there, and companies like Dashboss and Torque APP are finding it time consuming to fix all the bugs for everyone!!

I would bet it will be another year at least before each gets them tuned in.

4th and 5th are so close, that 4th is suposed to be used in the cold. Although I have managed to get 4th to show up on my SGII every once in a while!

Dash Boss has their own forum, although their Facebook page seems the fastest to get a response. They have readily admitted the 6.0/6.4/6.7 has been the most vocal crowd with their product.

I am in a unique position since Ken from DashBoss works in the same city I work and I am currently scheduling to meet with him this week or next.

He wants to figure out some different 6.0 parameters like Gear Selection that works fine for the 6.4 and 6.7 but doesn't come up as a PID for the 6.0.

The next update is going to have the Fan pids, Flash release, FICM synch and a few others.

So we'll see. I like it, the price seems kind of steep, but compared to an SG2 I believe it does and looks a whole lot better.

The one thing SG2 has on the others is taking a reading Key-off.

But really, I am more than willing to pop the hood to take battery readings etc, so not a deal killer in the least.

I don't want to sound like a major DashBoss fanboy, but the coolest feature is you can swap between vehicles and it automatically loads the specific parameters for that vehicle. My wife's 2007 Dodge Sprinter threw a CEL. Scan it with Dashboss for P0672. Stored code occured in April 2012. Also found running voltage was only 12.7 volts.

Repaired the alternator charging cable and installed a new #2 cylinder glowplug. Cleared the code with Dash Boss and all is well.
