Hey guys , can someone give me a headsup as to what I'm donig wrong here ? I have NO instrument panel lights but all else is working fine . I have the EZ wire harness and shark gauges . I have power at the fuse box labeled gauges and all my indicator lights are working ,along with all the gauges temp , amps etc are working right when the truck is running . Do I have a wire not connected right at the headlight switch side ? The switch is a 1979 FORD switch . I know it's probably something real simple but man it's driving me nuts ...Thanks
I don't know how you have it wired but you should be able to run your dash light wire to a feed on the headlight switch on the outlet side of the rheostat, that way you can dim them.
The EZ wire kit has a brown wire from the dash lights that goes to the headlight switch. There should be a terminal on the headlight switch for the inst lights or panel lights. I don't have the diagram for that switch, maybe you can find it on-line.
Also, check the ground. I had to run a ground bus from battery to a spot up under the dash to get good ground connections.
B ------------ Battery positive
A ------------ Battery positive to other
R ------------ Park / Tail lights
I ------------ Dash lights
H ------------ Headlights to dim & bright switch
D1 D2 ------------ Interior light
Thanks guys , I got em working . I screwed up and had them on the wrong terminal at the switch side . Thanks for the chart 53FOPAR !!!! You guys are awesome ....
