Yep, my Samsung Galaxy works flawlessly as well. If not connected, the ol bag will will tell me she is connecting the phone and it always connects. On the occasion it doesnt, operator error is to blame. I wonder why some phones work better than others. Maybe antenna position in the phone, make sure you have the latest software found on sync my ride.
I finally got my phone to connect to sync yesterday. But then, out of the blue, while driving and about an hour later, the little sync girl on menopause says, "Phone disconnected." I wasn't even using the phone or touching anything? I tried to reconnect but nope, got the signal No phone found. Well, the phone is 12 inches in front of the radio. Sync is out of sync.
So when the sync decides to sulk or go into menopause, I connect my bluetooth GPS and use the phone that way. So much for sync technology. I have two phones, a koodo and a bell and she (sync) doesn't care who it is. She treats them both the same. What a beeatchhh.
My Sync (2010) has been goofy as well. Just randomly driving down the road and all of a sudden it says "Phone Disconnected" for what appears to be no reason. Not on the phone, not streaming music over Bluetooth or anything else. Voice rec was always a problem too. Pretty much gave up on that. I have tried iPhone 4 & 4S and both have issues. My iPod touch also randomly disconnects while playing music over Bluetooth.
Recently noticed all my FM stations have slight static. Checked antenna connections to no avail.
Now my own truck I specifically bought WITHOUT Sync, but all the new 2012 F450/F550 trucks at work have it and I support it for coworkers now. The good thing is that you can do the whole pairing and set up process without saying much by stepping through the menus with the steering wheel controls. You still have to say the PIN number though. It's nothing like the Chrysler uConnect where it takes 6 tries for it to figure out you're saying 'PAIR A PHONE'.
To troubleshoot bluetooth and isolate the problem, use a BT equipped laptop and run Aruba (Network Chemistry) Bluescanner to see if the device being paired is actually discoverable and advertising its capabilities properly. There are various similar software tools out there as well.

Oh, the problem isn't that the phone can't get paired or connected at all to Sync. It is that many times it just refuses to connect, or it disconnects for no apparent reason. Sometimes it connects flawlessly, and other days it is like it has dementia. I mean how can it display "No Phone Found" when the phone is right in front of it?? And it is not just one phone having this problem connecting or disconnecting like a poltergeist influence. If it was one phone I would say must be the phone. But two different phones refusing to connect? And I am not the only one having similar issues with Sync.
I scroll thru, disconnect the bluetooth connection on the sync, shut off the phone, and try it all over again usually to no avail. That is when I just use my Garmin GPs bluetooth and then no problems but I shouldn't have to do that.
Hi Folks
I switched from an iphone to a Samsung, and the troubles started with Sync and my 2012 Escape disconnecting after 5 minutes, which really drove me nuts, S T!
Anyway it turned out it was my fault - Samsung requires a firmware update on the computer through a program called KIES which checks for the updates on their site and downloads to a computer.
Then it has to update the phone when it is hooked to the same computer, which was another half an hour at least.
Now I have to give the kudos for Samsung to have solved this problem, and a nice firm whack on my head for not letting the damn thing run until it was finished. . . . I thing it is called impatience on my part, and now the 2S is fine.

Mine has been flawless with my Windows Phone 8. Sometimes it is the phones Bluetooth that has the bug. It all depends but mine pairs well and voice is as good as any of my other cars. My problem is with the crappy Ford Sync website. Horrible.
iPhone 4 and other then once in a blue moon it not connecting I haven't had any problems.....listen to music via BT Audio all the time. When on the rare occasion that it won't connect a quick reboot of the phone and it connects without a problem....
