new alternator
hi im new to this site..i hope som of u guys can help me out wit my problem..i hav a 2003 f250 7.3..i bought a new alternator and pigtail conector because ma old one got cooked..coming out from the truck i see two small colored wires n a thick black one..and the new conector pigtail has three small black wires..thats where im stuck

So who knows what causing these alternators to fry. In the last 2 weeks I've toasted 3. Each time I would get the battery light at high RPM and toast some diodes. Have normal amp draw at idle and 2000 rpm.

I have heard our dual battery cables(terminals) can go bad
Also there might not be enough good gnd wires
I added an extra grnd wire at starter to frame
some also add one at alternator bracket to frame/body
