Differential (hog head) seal?

Differential (hog head) seal?
Noticed a noise on my 96 F250 when I put it in 4x4. Looked around and the passenger side axle where it goes into the differential (hogs head) is missing the bearing/seal whatever it is that goes there. Everything is still connected but there is ALOT of play in my passenger side axle as you can imagine. My question is what is this seal/bearing called? Iv'e found wheel seals, knuckle seals, etc. but I'm just really not sure what all I need cause nothing is there LOL. Is this a common problem or is there something completely screwed up here that caused it? Bought the truck for $800 about 2 months ago and I really don't know the history, just applying band aids as I go.

From what I can find, its a oil seal and a bearing. Mine ain't there. I can see back in the housing. It's not cracked or anything, just a hole 
Like I said my axle is still connected and everything works. I'll check it out good this week.
