Hey guys I just put in an aux transmission cooler and have started to notice the last two days driving it that it surges and seems to shift harder then normal. Going up hills it seems to struggle and I was just wondering whats going on? Is it the cooler or could it be to much fluid? I filled it up and it was a little bit over the hash marks, maybe 1/4-1/2 inch over. Any help is great im starting to think the cooler was a bad idea! Its a 92 ford f150 e40d 5.0L
A cooler is always a GREAT idea. An over full transmission is almost as bad as an under full transmission. Looks to me like you need to draw some fluid out.
I dumped out what was in my line and let it warm up and seemed to be ok. Driving was ok until it warmed up and it seems to surge at 3-4 gear. So I checked to fluid it seems to be down so I added more. Im just wondering if im checking it wrong. I check the fluid and have been addding the fluid while its running and in park
