Rad Question

I was wondering if our raditor has a internel transmission cooler in it? I am asking because I have one that is mounted in front of the raditor now and I am going to put a 6.0 cooler in. So i followed the rubber lines back cause I am replacing them and the one line goes to the cooler and the other one goes from the cooler into the raditor. I would think it should be a countious loop from the tranny to the cooler and back.
Let me know if it is hard to understand. lol Thanks for your input if you have any

Yes your 97 will have the internal transmission cooler in addition to the external cooler. If putting in a 6.0 cooler, you'll want to remove the current external cooler, but keep the fluid going through the radiator.

Yes, you'll need to add some... about 2 quarts depending on how much you lose making the swap. Do the install, take it around the block (make sure it gets up to operating temp so the bypass valve opens so the fluid is flowing through the new cooler), then check the level and add as needed...
