acts like abs sensors could be bad. but the brake pedal goes almost to the floor, after it does it's pulsating. But the abs light does not come on. I already changed brake booster, no change!
Pulsating brakes can be an indication of worn brake pads, they're made to do that. Either that or warped disks.
Brake pedal to the floor doesn't sound good (as if you didn't know that). Have you checked your fluid level? If the pedal goes to the floor slowly, then that means fluid is leaking past the master cylinder piston.
I can not figure out how to work this web site! I would like to reply back to furyus1 but can't get the option to reply. I can't put anything in the title or message. this concerns 2003 ranger brake problems(4x4)
Just submit a post like you've been doing, containing the reply. You should also see a button at the far right of the posts that says "Quote" which puts that particular post inside a quote box in your reply post (if that makes any sense at all...)
I believe the sensors are in the ends of the axle tubes - when I did the front brakes on my '04, I noticed that the ABS wires for the sensors are "hidden" behind the brake disk/splash guard - the wires run down the steering knuckle and into the hubs/axle tube. I've not had to tear my hubs apart yet so I can't say what's in there, but I have seen references to a "tone ring" which I would assume is on the axle shaft and is read by the sensor in the axle tube.
I'm sure someone with much more experience with these than I am can clarify better what it is I'm trying to say...
