So getting back to the frame. Originally i was really wanting to get someone to sandblast the back half of the frame. I went down the place that does it and hes saying 80 bucks and he doesnt think he can get everywhere....
soooo i asked around and i was told about this stuff called OSPHO basically wire brush/sand the big stuff off spray the ospho on let it sit. it starts foaming a lil but turns the rust back to iron i guess if i read it correctly. But after it dries you can paint right over it. its serves as a primer of sorts too.
The jug was 10 bucks and i used about a quarter of the bottle for the back half.
I wire brushed the frame lightly sanded the sides sprayed it with the ospho then preasure washed it later when it dried with some purple power.
I picked up some rustoleum undercoating to give it a shot.
It works great! goes on really thick and dries with a slight rubber texture. real cool i bought a few more can today for more coats. Also it is paintable.
Got the bed on last night. bought some new bed bolts. the bed is jus sitting on there right now. i need to cut my new body spacers down to get the body line just right.
Alright progress! Its funny how accomplishing small tasks can make your day, and change you mood.
So yesterday we set the bed on and i ran to home depot and got some new carriage bolts for the bed.
and of coarse some beer for the project. makes all the lines straighter.
Here are the solid steel blocks that originally were on here.
so i got my new 3in spacers in yesterday. i knew i needed to cut them down before i started. no big deal. heres before and after i adjusted the spacers.
I ended up taking the filler neck hose from the front gas tank off my old parts truck and using it in the back. that took a lil time and patience but i got it hooked up.
Alright i hope someone can point me in the right direction here.
Im trying to redue my tail light wiring. I started after the plug that comes out of the end of the frame. I tested the wires. Yellow left turn green right turn brown running lights. Green and yellow for brakes. And green and yellow get 12 when in reverse. Now there is a black wire that gets nothing. No ground in the group.
Any wiring diagrams available?
I might just try to grab a new harness out of a truck somewhere.
