I know there's nothing like seeing a "newbie" post a quesiton that has been asked 1000 times but I've looked and cannot find the information.
I have a neighbor with a '99 Exploder with a 4.0 liter single OH cam motor. What I'm trying to find out is information regarding the timing chain noise at idle, how big of a concern is this and whether ot not this is an interence type motor.
Any help or link to help is appreciated.
Randy

Geez, all of these people with timing chain problems. It's caused by plastic tensioners that Ford used up until mid way through 2000. There is a recall out for the timing chains, but I forget the name of the program. Do a search for 4.0 SOHC chain rattle, and you will find tons of info on it.
