Ok, I just bought a 1993 explorer with the 4.0 V6. I would like to do some small addons to help with power. I did a seach and didn't find a lot of info on the v6 so here are my questions. Thanks for any input.
Does the MAC intake use the stock MAF? Has anyone replaced their MAF with an aftermarket product. Is the best bang for the buck the Chip replacement? What type of whp increase would I see with a filter, MAF, intack, Throttle body spacer? Does anyone make a aftermarket throttle body? How restrictive is the exhaust. Does it need to go?
Just some questions. Unfortionately, I am like most of the guys on here and am looking for the best bang for the buck?
get a air intake and a gibson exhaust, the stock air tub is not that bad, you will only see at best 1-2 hp by gettin a new tube and most are smaller that the MAS nd Tbody so you will loss flow
I got the kurtz kustm intake setup for my ranger. It seems to help a litlle at the mid to higher RPM's. The best part of it is the sound I get now over 3000 rpm. I want to get me a gibson cat-back but it'll have to wait a while. The intake was only about $90 and included a cone air filter and an adapter to fit it to the stock tubing. It will probably benifit me more after I do some more mods.
