Stiff throttle ?

My service truck 1988 f350 7.3 c6 has a wicked stiff gas pedal . I haven't looked into it yet . I intend to remove the cable from the injection pump and press the pedal with it disconnected and see if I get the same resistance .
I'm basically just wondering if anyone else has run into this ?

Double spring hooked to pull back the lever on IP, I always eliminate one of the two...much more natural feeling

Normal. I honestly much prefer it over the weight less throttle other cars have.

I'll have to pull a spring out , I think it sucks ! Lol
I used to drive a international 9400 with a L10 cummins , breathe on the throttle and it would turn 2100rpm . I added a spring in that case .....

Ya me neither. I drove this truck 6+ hours straight. Leg is fine. I think the first week it was a little tiring but after that its been good. I love how heavy it is since i can keep the engine at the exact rpm i want just with my foot. It doesn't move around.

with a good cable i can work the throttle with one finger. when the cable starts locking up it gets very hard to press it down.

i wonder if a stiff throttle cable will give the illusion of the truck being slower? LOL

Same here, stiff throttle. My son doesn't like the stiffness and doesn't like to drive it as much so I don't have to worry about him taking off in my truck UNLESS he needs somthing heavy duty to haul with.

That was my first thought .....the cable is starting to frey inside the casing . I've had the pedal get stuck to the floor at least 2 times which is interesting to say the least .
Aftermarket cable ok ? Or oem only ?
