He did say he had to remove the arm rests in order for them to work. Most people have to cut the bolt off for the arm rest but he did say if you remove the seat covers you can then remove the bolts without having to cut it out.

I installed a center jump seat in my X. If you have the fold down arm rests they have to go. You have to cut the studs off the seats otherwise the seat cannot be moved to the raised position.
