Macerator

Hello Fella's...I recently purchased a Flojet Macerator so I could dump my tanks almost anywhere it is legal...Really wished I had bought one years ago. Sure comes in handy for fulltimers like my wife and I. Anyway, I am looking for a tank I can put in the back of the truck so I can transfer the waste in town somewhere without having to haul the trailer to a dump site...

Point of all this is...I noticed the macerator pump works so well that it has a tendacy to leave the toilet paper behind to accumulate in the black tank. Seems it sucks all the water out faster than the tp can get to the macerator.....Anybody else experience this?

My solution...I purchased a toilet wand that goes down the throat of the toilet and rips the tp into small bits...kinda like a chefs boat motor to puree food in a pot...

Kinda stinky but get the job done and no tp left behind...then I use it once a month to completely power wash the inside of the tank...I wish I could find something that would break the rv tp down, but I haven't found anything that really works. If anyone knows of a chemical that will do that please pass it on...Sure would cut down on the use of the toilet wand...

I am guessing you have tried both tissue digester and one of the enzyme products without success?

Actually I just ordered a gallon of this stuff I never heard of before...Something Blue...Blue Something....sokething like that...anyway some of the others have worked...just not as well as I think they should...I might be asking a miracle, but I think I will find something safe and legal. I think the main problem is the waste digesters and enzymes hust don't get enough time to work well. With just the two of us, we only have to dump every 4 to 5 weeks...

Instead of buying the electric pump version, I got this: What's Included

I use it mostly when I'm required to dump at a campground and don't wanna wait in line. I just go home and dump it right into my cleanout pipe in the front yard using 1/2" PCV. I bought 3 10' lenghts and put 'em together without glue so they just pull apart after and store them in the shed.

It pumps slow enough to allow for the tp to come out. My trailer also has a water hose connection so I can spray clean the black water tank. Works for me. And I saved money too...doesn't cast as much as the powered ones.

Yeah, that's a good set-up...The reason I went with the electric is because I want to pump into a waste tank in the back of my truck and tske it to town to dump it as we boondock way out in the boonies and in the desert in Quartsite, AZ...for months at a time...so no place out there to hook up to "city water". That way I don't have to hitch the 5th wheel and take her to town to...
