I run with headlights on at all times, 24/7, I would like my dash lights to stay on at all times as well, just because it drives me crazy to see them come on and off.
On a Lariat the dash lights never turn off. They only go from very bright during the daytime to a lesser bright at night. I guarantee you don't want to look at the daytime brightness level of the dash at night...it would blind you from driving safely.
The company truck I drive at work has daytime driving lights, they're nice I like the way they work. In the day time I think the dash lights are off but driving through a tunnel or at night they come on as normal.
On my wife's Explorer I have a piece of tape over the sensor so the light come on during the day. The only problem is that the radio light is in night time mode, for myself I manually turn off the light to check the time.
I'm W7PSK I am going to check the dealer if they will activate the daytime driving lights on my truck. I am also going to ask if it can be added to my wife's 04 Explorer.
DRLs only run the headlights, dash lights should be bright when programmer. Downside is no marker lights and no taillights. If in foggy or poor visibility, y ou still need your headlights.
KTP, welcome to FTE,
Touch wood I guess, I've been lucky with bulbs for sure, yer the 2nd person lately that had trouble with the 3rd brake light on an Explorer
