Move it to the hot side pipe. It will let you fuel a little more

Moving it to the hot side of an intercooler will fuel the truck a little more to compsenate for the boost that the turbo is putting out. It will also shift the transmission better if you have an auto.

The extra fuel added to the more dense air charge will allow for a shade bit more power and a more complete fuel burn.

Yes. I've got my boost sensor reading off the cold side.

Interesting I may have to try this. Any particular method to attach it? I'd assume just a nipple welded into the pipe?

What is different about having it in the hot pipe vs the factory location?

The factory location sees less boost, thus not adding the extra fuel. With an intercooler, you lose PSI because the air charge is more dense. If you move it to the hot side of the intercooler, your MAP sensor will fuel for the extra boost and also shift the transmission the way it should with the added fuel/more complete fuel burn.

I see. I didn't realize it would make that much difference since the factory location is kind of the hot side as well. I think I understand moving it to the cold side a little more.

Once you install an intercooler, the factory location is on the cold side of the intercooler.
