I worry the lenses for my brake and tail lights are not bright enough. They are old and have a film in them and the light just doesn't seem that bright, especially in the sun.
Anyone have a recommendation for a replacement set of tail lenses? I would really like some LEDs but I can't seem to find them for my 92 F150. I don't like the euro style at all.

I had the same situation with my 90 tail lights .... so I did the same treatment I used for my dull headlights... then installed RED 3157 LED's and they "brightened up" much better!!! Later I added a small quartz bumper mounted back-up light. with it's own switch . To make the turn's even more noticeable I ran a wire from the left and right front turn signals to the old back-up light and installed YELLOW 3156 LED'S ... BIG CHANGE !!! (now the yellows don't light up when I hit the binders, not legal most states ) It's an easy fix and shows up very well !!! Dave
Also check the grounds back there !!!
From what I know now, there are other solutions as well. CANBUS bulbs can be bought or a separate item can be bought to go in-between the new LED and plug to fix this. Not sure what it's called but someone told me about it after I fixed my issue.

I'm looking at doing the same with the marker and turn lights in front. Do you happen to know those bulb numbers? The lower ones (turn signal I believe) is a pain to get off just to get the bulb number.
Those bulb numbers are 3156 turn sig only and 3157 if they are turn and parking/running lights ... and no need to run an extra wire ... that was to eliminate the yellow lights from coming on during break light !!!
Dave
Replacing your old, cloudy fixtures would fix most of your problem, I would bet (but I wouldn't discourage LEDs either). Available at NAPA for $20 each or online even cheaper.

I cleaned mine up pretty good with what work was involved, I was impressed. I figured out that cleaning the lens with just two chemicals removed that junk. I judge went and looked and I think I need to clean the inside now since the outside is so good
While we're on the subject, I haven't figured out a way to have the headlights and side marker lights on as daytime running lights but NOT have the tail lights on at the same time. For my headlights and marker lights I have just tapped into the wires at the headlights and marker lights with a relay, and I'm sure the tail lights are on because of the power being fed into the system by my wiring. I just haven't figured a way to work around this without cutting wires.

So that would be for the bottom, orange lights that also act as the turn signal. What about the clear marker light and the orange one below it? Are they also 3156? I have two bulbs in the orange lens and one in the clear.

Anyone?
Is this how you've wired it? That should keep DRL power from feeding back to the tail lights.
If you want to do headlights AND markers, you'll need another relay to turn off the low beam when the high beam is on. Sounds like a lot of work...just to have the tails turned off.

The picture below is what I had to start with.
And the problem was the alarm I have would flash the lights (when I turned the alarm on and off) through the headlight switch. When that power went through the wires, it backfed through the relay I have installed for the DRL. This one relay controls a small fuse block. When the alarm was turned off and on, the power would cause all the accessories on that fuse block to get power, which I didn't want.
What I did that seems to have worked so far is I have used one of the Ford PCM diodes (http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-OEM-BLACK-2-TERMINAL-DIODE-F5TZ-14A604-A-/150974387020?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2326c6534c&vxp=mtr) and put that on my DRL wire where I spliced into the wire from the headlight switch. This way I didn't need to run any additional wires for an extra relay or anything like that.
