The long weekend is giving me the time to finish stripping my 65 down too bare metal. I'm at those places where the sanding discs, pads, or welding torch do not like to go. Body panel seams and those rust hiding nooks and crannies.
So I said to myself. Self? A dental drill would be the ticket.(or even a dremel). Getting in those seams was just like cleaning grout lines in the kitchen and bath. So I opened up that dreaded household chores toolbox and pulled out the grout line scraper. Works great! The tip is hardened so drag lightly but it will scratch off multi layers of paint real quick
Great weekend to all. Hope your havin more fun than I am.
Great idea! I'm going to go get me one of those as I'm at the point in my body work where I need to clean out the seams. I was advised to use a torch but since I have places where there is bondo really close to the seams, it wouldn't be a very good idea. I know I should have cleaned the seams before applying bondo .....ooops....lesson learned. Thanks for sharing your idea.
Dang, I was hoping this thread was about naked ladies.........
But alas, it is not.
You can also take an old screwdriver and sharpen it on the bench grinder to any shape you want. Have fun stripping!
I was thinking the same thing too about the strippers.......ha ha ha ha
Thanks for the idea about the screwdriver. I took one of my many flathead screwdrivers and sharpened it up, worked like a charm and since I'm a computer nerd by trade, I have a few really small screwdrivers to fit in those tight spots, used a rubber mallet to aid in the removal which also worked like a charm with the added bonus of not hurting the fingers as bad as a steel hammer!
I was kinda hoping the same thing,,, dang!! But I do have that postcard right here at my desk,, sent from my folks after they were out here a few years ago and saw my, ahem "collection"!
