I know it's not exact. Just wondering what everyone else is getting out of 1/4 tank in their v10 excursion? I hope to fill up this week or at latest next. Since I just filled up and used my Giant points I need to build them up again. You guys won't believe this either probably but a few weeks ago I got gas for just over 2.00 a gal. This is very easy to do if you have friends and family that have diesels and shop at Giant. Give them one of your bonus cards and ask them to scan it at every purchase. Since Giant doesn't sell diesel around here they have no use for the points. They rack up quick and sometimes they even have big bonus points for special purchases. Every little bit helps.
The best I have gotten was 15mpg with the 3.73`s. there is no way you were able to get 20 with a V-10! If I were you I would expect 14-15mpg. when I swapped to the 4.30`s my unloaded hwy mileage dropped to 14.2, but my towing mileage rose slightly from 7.5 to 8 mpg. however since then they have changed the ethanol content and the best I can get while towing is 6.2!!!! which pisses me off. considering I pay more now for less power and mileage!
I agree, they are talking about pushing the ethonal up to at least 15% that will suck even more. What is going on with America? At this rate it won't be long before we are a 3rd world country. Everything goes up but our wages.

I am 60 years old now and I just dont think I will see our great country recover from what shape were in.
"God Bless The USA"
All that being said to stay on track we need all the MPG we can get
I am nutty about keeping my tank full in case of emergencies, so I fill up when it gets down to 1/2 a tank. I usually put anywhere from 23-25 gallons in at that point.
However, I would say two things:
1. my gauge goes below "F" the SAME DAY that I fill up (and I don't commute!).
2. even with a good feeling for how much gas you have as it relates to your gauge, you can only trust the pen-and-paper numbers.
Some of the guys on here put some funny comments, I even had to wipe a tear from laughing so hard at Monsta's post. Hopefully you got a laugh, too. It's all in good fun.
best of luck,
Karl.
p.s. I have yet to get more than 12mpg.
What you just said proves my point, you said you fill up at "1/2" full and it takes 23 to 25 gal to fill up,
I know you don't have a 46 to 50 gal tank, the gauge must not be telling you the truth.
my other two('04 and '00) excursions it was like clock work, every 1/4 was 10 gallons.
my '02 the gauge drops like a rock and then the low fuel light comes on when i still have almost 10 gallons left. it really pisses me off. i have replaced the pump/sending unit with no change.
