P0683 GPCM replacement
I got the P0683 code. As a result I replaced the GPCM with a new one which I got from Tousley.
To do this I looked around the net to see if I could find a photo showing the location of the GPCM. I did not so I have attached one to this thread.
It was an easy project. It took me about 45 minutes.
I needed to remove the two 11mm nuts (unfortunately I tagged them 11mm bolts in my photo) that are on the band clamps. I used a deep socket. Once loosened the band clamps the pipe was easily moved out of the way for access to the rear 10mm nut holding the GPCM in place.
I also removed the 10mm nut holding a small brown wire in place that I was afraid might break.
When I removed the electrical connectors a red gasket and a blue piece of plastic fell out of the green plug. They were easy to reinstall. The black plug came apart intact.
Once I connected the electrical connections the GPCM was installed in reverse of removal.
