Blown 6.8L Value
So after my post the other day I found my egr and bought a new engine for my excursion. it seems to be a good one, 60k miles. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody had and idea if these engines have any value If their shot. Mine has about 190k on it and has a rod knock, still starts right up and drives but is very clearly knocking. I can disassemble the engine if it's worth my time but I wouldn't know what to keep intact or where to sell it. (it'd suck to scrap it for 80 bucks) Thanks again.

This might be a good time to get a service manual on the V10 and tear it apart and put it back together and learn from it. Then, when something goes wrong with your new motor, you'll have the confidence to tackle it.
Or, if you want, just start pulling it apart without a manual and post questions with pictures here. Someone would be able to chime in and help. We all could learn something.
