For the guys who are hemming about going black. I would highly suggest it. It made my truck quieter (even than 120cc splits) and I'm pretty sure mpgs have improved a large measure. This was over the ford updated one.

Just to be sure we're all talking about the same thing, you guys have the black one with the part number F4TZ-12K073-C, correct?

For nine years now I've been reading black, white, gray, purple O ring, etc. etc.

Also I've been reading this 20mpg stuff, I'm jeolouse!!! 13 empty, 9 loaded, period!! Nine years of modding equals 13 empty, 9 loaded!! Makes me wonder if I should get a Cumings!

I get 15 with a 1000 pound flatbed, and 350 bumper. Probably 200 in other weight. I'm running 3.55s and 315s, with a 5spd.

I got 16 with 265 tires. I really wouldn't mind seeing one of these 20+ mpg trucks though.

From what I can tell my mpgs have gone up with the black CPS.

I'm stock tires, height, almost new everything sensor wise, E fuel, no leaks,

What I need to do is to stop reading these threads. This one sucked me in because it was about CPS.

Are stock tires 235s? I bet if you went up to a 285 or 315 your mileage would go up. 4.10s and stock tires are bad news. 315s and 4.10s are about perfect, as well as 285s and 3.55s. I messed up on that one.

If your gauge is lying then fix it. My gauges will go just past the red at E before I'm out of fuel.

Glenn I get 16 mixed driving and 19 hwy. if I keep my foot out of it.

I got 3.15's and 4:10's. @2400 rpms goin about 73 mph I'm getting about 16. Heavy flatbed dually probably have something to do with it.

The part number mentioned earlier is that the correct one for the black CPS. I have 2 gray ones that I got from the international dealer here in fresno ca. They didn't mention anything about a black one. Hmmm

About that hiccup earlier mentioned. Mine does it when I link up to my blue driver iPhone scan tool. I mentioned it to blue driver and they are goin to check it out. That's the only time mine does it. When linking my phone to it or scanning for codes. Kinda weird.

They no longer make the black one that is why they are so valuable. It has been superseded over to a new part number which is the same as the Ford updated one.

I have read all CPS threads and being confused, I called Ford import services in Norway.

After having talked to Ford, they no longer produce the black one, but it has been replaced by suffix C (F4TZ-12K073-C) which is dark grey.
And this is the best one for my van, as they said.

They also mentioned that it might get rid of the annoying stutter I have when driving steadily between 60 - 80 km/h, just barely maintaining the speed in that range.

That can only be confirmed when I recieve the new CPS I ordered.
As I have no code reader, I can't say what faults I'm getting when it stutters.

This sensor is on eBay with the -C part number on it. Is this a dark grey or a black CPS? I thought the dark grey ones had a purple o-ring. Is this correct?

I'm so confused.....
