Couple of questions:
- What is your cab and bed configuration? i.e. Scab/6.5'? Screw 5.5'?
- Do you know what kind of gooseneck you're looking to pull? i.e. do you already have a trailer picked out? If so, provide specs of said trailer...like the tongue weight for instance.
- Where are you located? This would help us determine your locale and maybe a shop to help you out.
Quad cab, short bed, just north of wichita ks. 26 ft weighs right at 2000lb an im guessing 500 tongue weight.
That should be within your tow limits if only pulling it empty. Assuming that is the empty trailer weight. What do you plan to tow and how much weight?
What engine do you have?
What rear end?
As much info as possible will get you a better answer regarding SAFE towing.
But a short answer to your question is:
Any good hitch shop should be able to install a ball in the bed for you.
given the choice, this is what i would have installed. B&W Turnover ball.
hopefully the link works, but i just went to thier website and searched for a zipcode near wichita ks.
as for what you decide to tow .... i'm staying out of it ... i got NO room to talk. (search my name in the Super Duty forum for my latest blatent transgressions regarding tow-ratings, if you're wondering)
