drive shaft problem

drive shaft problem
i have a 48 f1 289 c6 when i replaced the dana 41 rearend for a 9in. i started spinning the rear bushing and seal out of the tail shaft of the trans. i think my driveshaft is now to short. does anybody know of a replace shaft that might work. my thinking is a 80-84 ranger extended cab 4x4 2 piece hoping the cross member for the center hanger bearing will work.

I measured and found with the 9" the driveshaft was 1" too short. I solved that by switching the yoke on the 9" for an extended one (exactly 1" longer) than the one that was on there. Otherwise you need to have a new driveshaft made, about $200. When you put on the new yoke, you really need to make sure the pinion bearings are preloaded correctly.
