In Yuma

Just joined the Arizona chapter. I have seen here where somebody bad mouth Yuma, and a lot of people think we're a p*ss stop on the way to Kommiefornia. Sorry some of you feel that way. Been here since July 29, 1976. Been around the world a few times and been shot at in a few of those places. Believe me when I say "there's no place like home" quote from Dorothy, Wizard of Oz. Just please don't make me go west across the Colorado river any more.
PM me if you want my phone # is case you need help in the SW corner of the "Greatest State of the Union".
Only thing I can think of wrong with Arizona is I wasn't born here.
Harrier tech rep by trade. Aircraft mechanic and avionics tech is my hobby, as is hunting, 4 wheelin, quadding and camping. No wife, but do have lady friend with benefits. Kids grown.

WELCOME TO THE ARIZONA CHAPTER. HOPE YOU POST OFTEN HERE.
I haven't seen people badmouthing Yuma. My wife & I lived in Yuma a few times & I love it there except from about July - Sept. It gets a little too hot & humid for my likes. My wife is a teacher & has taught @ Crane Middle School out on 32nd below Ave C. She also taught @ Juniper Tree on 24th & Kennedy, now Desert Academy I believe.
We both really like Yuma. It is one of the safest Cities of its size I have ever lived in. The Police & Sheriff Dept keep a lid on things real good I think. I have a bunch of friends there. One of my buddies was born in Yuma & is my age 63. His wife teaches for the Crane District.
So I'm not sure of where or what you read. In fact my wife now teaches in California & was laid off this summer & received four job offers in the Yuma area. We were headed back, until her lay off was reversed & her job was offered back to her. She is a SPED teacher.

welcome to the Arizona chapter, I am an Arizona Native. also an aircraft mechanic, worked on helicopters and small aircraft up to the Cessna 550 bravo II for 18 years , quit that and opened my own garage.
Only time I ever get to Yuma is when I have to go to Kalifornia and when we go to Algodones.

Welcome to the party!

I work with a Yuma native. His opinion of Yuma is lower than a pee stop.....
